About the School
The School for Integrative Group Analysis Koinonia-Art (a member SDPSⅰ, IAGPⅱ, SDINⅲ) has grown out of the Koinonia-Art Learning Community, whose work over several decades has been marked by a sustained commitment to various fields of psychoanalysis and to the development of relations between them: individual psychoanalytic psychotherapy (beginning with the Klein/Bion/NeoKlein “London Link” Study Group in 1985ⅳ); group analysis; relational psychoanalysis (particularly the Latin American tradition); Bion’s approach to group relations; social dreaming; psychoanalytic and systems-psychodynamic organisational consultancy; reflective citizens and other psychosocial activities; and work within therapeutic, learning and other communities.
The internationalisation of work across psychoanalytic fields, while honouring our connections with the valuable roots in our countryand the wider region, has been woven into the professional field of Koinonia-Art from its beginnings and continues to be actively nurtured. The jubilee – Tenth International Conference on Reflective Citizens & Invigorating Bridges among Psychoanalytic Fields, organised by the School in October 2025, reflects this aspect of the identity of the Koinonia-Art School and Learning Community. Many members of the School are also individual members of international organisations such as GASiⅴ, IAGP, IARPPⅵ, ISPSOⅶ, OPUSⅷ. They participate in a range of activities, give presentations and serve on boards, in addition to the School’s own membership and connections as a whole.
Space: From the School’s early beginnings in the 1980s to the present day, most educational activities have taken place at the School’s premises in Belgrade, at Petra Lekovića Street No. 115.
Koinonia: The art of communal life rooted in our folk tradition meets the koinonia skills of the group-analytic tradition (“Koinonia” Patrick de Mare,1991ⅸ), adapted to the needs of people today.
Training programmes, each operating within the clearly defined boundaries of the tripartite models of psychoanalytic traditions (theoretical seminars, personal/didactic work and supervision), also offer opportunities for encounters and exchanges across traditions. These take place during carefully designed educational days (Koinonia Block), designed as temporary learning organisations for learning through experience about the institutional psychodynamics of education.
Group Analytic Training the third in our country) is the School’s primary training programme, in accordance with the criteria of EAPⅹ, EGATINⅺ, i EFPPⅻ. The School also offers training in individual psychoanalytic psychotherapy in the Klein/Bion/Winnicott tradition in relational context. Both programmes provide a pathway towards obtaining national and European psychotherapy certification.
