Training in Group Analysis
This is the School’s principal training programme, designed in accordance with European criteria established by EGATIN, EAP and EFPP. It is the third group analytic training programme in Serbia.
Its main objectives are to study, teach and develop group analysis, both in theory and in practice, and to foster the appropriate attitude, professional identity and high standards of group-analytic practice.
Alongside the work of S. H. Foulkes, the founder of group analysis, the programme encompasses the writings of his first circle of colleagues and co-creators of group analysis. It seeks to deepen understanding of processes of emergence and birth of group analysis, making the vitality of renewal more accessible to us across all layers of the tripartite matrix: from the founding matrix of group analysis, through the dynamic matrix of our various groups (small, median and large), to the personal matrix of individuals and the foundation matrix of social layers.
We begin with, and frequently return to, the sources and roots of the tradition of group analysis and psychoanalytic work with groups in our country, viewed from the perspective of our present moment.
We seek to nurture a creative freedom of relating that enables transgenerational connections among those who carry group analysis forward, across time and throughout the countries in which group analysis is practised—in our own country, across the region and the world.
The School places particular emphasis on the internationalisation of group analysis, which has been woven into our work throughout the decades of developing the Koinonia-Art learning field.
A distinctive feature of the matrix of this learning community is the living presence of many of the most prominent contemporary group analysts. Their involvement in co-creating, leading and participating in the series of international conferences organised by the Koinonia-Art community between 2012 and 2025 has been an important part of this community’s development. They include: Malcolm Pines, Earl Hopper, Robi Friedman, Carla Penna, Farhad Dalal, Gila Ofer, Dieter Nitzgen, Juan Tubert Oklander, Haim Weinberg, Hanni Biran, Tom Ormay, Alice Mulasso, Dick Blackwell, Svein Tjelta, Zoe Voyatzaki, Goran Ahlin, Teresa von Sommaruga Howard, Thor Kristian Island, Sue Einhorn, David Glyn, Regine Scholz, Christopher Scanlon, Konstantinos Liolios, Domenico Agresta, and others.
The training programme is divided into three stages: Introductory, Intermediate/Diploma and Advanced /Clinical.
The training is led by Dr Marina Mojović, a training group analyst, in collaboration with training group analysts from Serbia, the wider region and the world.
